Businesses Offer Stronger Authentication for Customers than Internal Users

Fifty-five percent of businesses offer at least two factors when authenticating their customers, compared with only 40% of businesses that leverage at least two factors of authentication to secure access to their own data and systems. All told, 60 percent of businesses said they use password-only authentication for internal users, compared to 45 percent who use password-only authentication for their customers.
