60% of Global Security Spend Went to Consulting and Outsourcing in 2017

Worldwide spending on security grew to $86.4 billion in 2017 and is projected to reach $108.2 billion by 2020, according to Gartner. In 2017, the bulk of security spend (60 percent) went to security services such as consulting and outsourcing, while infrastructure protection (18 percent) and network equipment (12 percent) made up a sizable chunk as well.
