Financial Services, Gov't Spent Largest Percentage of IT Budget on Security in 2016

While most industries saw an increase in security spend as a percentage of IT budget in 2016, financial services (10–12 percent increase) and government (7–9 percent increase) experienced the largest increase. Health care and technology/IT services organizations each experienced a 4–6 percent increase, while education saw a decrease in security spend as a percentage of IT budget of 1–3 percent on average.
